The telecom arm of Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries, Reliance Jio Infocomm will present some of its services at the eIndia Summit. Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis will inaugurate the summit.
Services at the Summit
Reliance Jio will let visitors enjoy Jionet’s high-speed Wi-Fi service at the summit. The company will live stream the event on its Jio Chat platform. The company will also introduce its yet to be launched digital wallet service, known as Jio Money. The wallet service will operate on 4G small cell technology and provide complete coverage footprint for indoor and outdoor, as well as better quality High-Definition (HD) voice, and service, among others.
A spokesperson from Reliance Jio said that all the visitors will be able to enjoy these three services from Reliance Jio and experience its digital ecosystem.“We believe that eIndia is the right platform for us to showcase our small cell technology and advanced services which will bridge the digital divide and enrich the life of every common man”, the spokesperson added.
Reliance Jio’s 4G Preparations
Reliance Jio is the only telecom operator in the country to hold the Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum in all the 22 regions, where it will roll out its 4G wireless services. The company has launched many pilot projects in cities like Ahmedabad, Bhubaneshwar, Lucknow, Mussoorie, and others.
Reliance Jio had earlier announced that it would officially launch its 4G services in December. The high-speed services will be provided at cheap rates. According to a source, the company will be rolling out the services by the deadline.
Reliance Jio’s Import of Sim Cards
An import data tracker website, Zauba revealed that Reliance Jio imported around half a million sim cards in the previous month. This indicates that the company has reached the final stages of its launch. The company imported most of the sim cards in October to conduct efficiency tests. At INR 19 per unit, the sim cards were imported from China to Delhi.
Launch of Reliance Jio
Since the last six months, Reliance Jio has been strongly working for the much-awaited launch. The company aims to rule the untapped markets in the country with enhanced market coverage and affordable rates.
Analysts predict that the launch of Reliance Jio may adversely impact the businesses of other telecom companies in the country. Its competitor Airtel has already launched 4G services in the country, covering 296 towns. Others, like Idea, Vodafone, and Aircel will be rolling out their 4G services in December itself.
Some mobile phone companies like Samsung, Microsoft, and Motorola are making cheap 4G-enabled phones bundled with Airtel 4G sim cards. Reliance Jio has also partnered with a number of mobile phone makers for a similar strategy. Moreover, it will offer LTE hotspots or Mi-Fi services, along with sim cards that will enable non-4G smartphones to have access to 4G speeds.
Analysts predict that the time is not far when customers will enjoy Reliance Jio services and the beginning of the new year will be filled with a lot of good deals for consumers.
Summary
Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, which will launch its 4G services in December, will display some of its services at the eIndia Summit.
