Reliance JioObtained 2 Lakh ZTE Smartphones

The subsidiary of Reliance Industries, Reliance JioInfocomm is gearing up to launch its commercial 4G services. It is setting the background by obtaining smart phones from a number of vendors to provide it to prospective consumers.

A source familiar with the development revealed that Reliance Jio has obtainedtwo lakhZhongxing Telecommunication Equipment (ZTE) Corporation smartphones. Most of these are ZTE Blade S6. The company is presently testing the handsets to offer a flawless product at the time of its commercial launch.

Reliance Jio has also begun the procedure of buying a few smartphones from YUTeleventures, which is a smartphone brand of Micromax.

Features of ZTE Blade S6

ZTE Blade S6 smartphone was earlier launched in January 2015. It is not available in the market at present. At the time, the phone’s retail price was INR 15,000. The display of ZTE Blade S6 is of 5 inches, with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The phone has a 2GB RAM and 1GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.

The operating system of ZTE Blade S6 is Android 5.0. The phone has an internal storage capacity of 16 GB. The storage space may be expanded through an external microSD card. The phone runs on a 2400 mAh non-removable battery. For perfect pictures, the phone is loaded with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.

The phone has two slots for SIM cards. Additionally, it also has features like Proximity sensor, Gyroscope sensors, Accelerometer, and Ambient light sensor.

Reliance Jio’s association with CommVault

Reliance Jio is in talks with CommVault Systems for the protection of its 4G data. CommVault Systems is a company based in the United States of America. It provides data management solutions to a number of Indian telecom companies.

4G services will produce a large amount of data and video content. The service will rule the Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networks in India. “We are talking to Reliance Jio directly, as well as through our system integrator (SI) partners for data management platform which has been deployed by many telecom service providers in India”, CommVault’s top executive said.

Reliance Jio will be rolling out its 4G services with the use of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum in the band of 2300 MHz.The company also holds spectrum in 1800 MHz and 800 MHz.
