Nita Ambani Talks at Reliance Jio Employee Launch in Mumbai

Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation – the philanthropic unit of India’s largest conglomerate Reliance Industries limited (RIL), took the stage at the Reliance Jio Employee Launch event to congratulate the whole Reliance family for creating Jio. Talking after Jio’s brand ambassador Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s scintillating performance, Mrs. Ambani shared the successes of various initiatives taken by Reliance.



“Jio is not just 2G, 3G, or 4G, it is Jio life,” she started her speech before thanking the families of the employees present at the event for coming together and making Jio a reality. She further remarked how Jio will prepare India for a better digital world now that the importance of technology is understood. The 4G services by Jio will not only ensure high-quality communication, but also will give an impetus to other fields like education and women empowerment. “As a woman, I feel proud that Jio will open opportunities for women. As a mother, I take pride in not only what my children have achieved, but also what each and every one of you and your children have achieved over the last few months. And finally, as a wife, I am happy that Reliance is getting into a service where families have come together jubilantly and created something of a phenomenon called Jio,” she said to a mesmerized crowd where also were seated film industry bigwigs like actors Ranbir Kapoor and Javed Jaffrey and filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani and Ayan Mukherjee.

She also highlighted that her foundation’s initiative, Dhirubhai International School was ranked the number one international school in India in 2015 for the third time in a row. In addition to it, her IPl franchise team, Mumbai Indians won the championship title for the second time.

Led by Nita Ambani, along with her husband Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Foundation was set up in 2010 to provide impetus to various philanthropic initiatives of RIL. The efforts of the group have already touched the lives of more than four million people across India, in more than 5,500 villages and urban locations. The Foundation is currently focusing on creating change in areas of Rural Transformation, Health, Education, Sports for Development, Disaster Response, Arts, Culture & Heritage, and Urban Renewal. It has significantly contributed to and made measurable progress toward its vision of an inclusive India.

Ending her speech, Mrs. Ambani said, “Jio will empower millions of Indians to lead a better digital life I’m sure, because life is beautiful. Jio life…”

Reliance Jio is an upcoming 4G service provider which has a pan-India license. Along with address LYF smartphones and other technological services, Jio will launch in March 2016.The beta launch of 4G services by Jio took place in Reliance Corporate Park in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai on 27 December 2015.
