Reliance Jio‘s much-awaited fourth generation (4G) services have already created a stir in the market. In fact, the
Mukesh Ambani owned telecom
arm has already started receiving positive feedback for the same.
The company launched a smart initiative by drawing in its own employees to promote the network services. As per the
program, employees can invite 10 members on board through a unique invitation code to try out Jio’s high-speed data
facilities. This testing phase will soon make way for the larger commercial launch which is due in the upcoming months.
Positive report by Edelweiss
Edelweiss who participated in the test phase had positive reviews for Jio’s services. The telecom company was particularly
lauded for its sound network performance and call set-up time. It provided quality coverage as well, with 3-8 Mbps indoors
and 12-20 Mbps outdoors. The services won over in terms of voice quality and overall experience as well. According to the
report, Edelweiss even stated that Reliance could provide tough competition to its rivals in the days to come.
A unified digital eco-system
The company further spoke about Reliance Jio’s goal to create a unified digital eco-system to reach out to customers;
which is being met with acknowledgment on all fronts. With a suite of digital applications to its credit, the company
attempts to deliver to diverse needs under the same roof.
Tough competition for rivals
Jio
Infocomm’s innovative services and marketing strategies are also quite likely to weigh heavily on existing operators.
Investing in network as well as regulating prices would be essential if they are to carve an indelible niche in the market
and maintain shares in the segment. Going by reports, Reliance Jio has already out-lived expectations by cornering a seven
percent share in the first quarter of this year itself.
Speed test
The report by Edelweiss also mentioned Jio Infocomm’s performance in contrast to its rivals. The telecom arm performed
relatively better in terms of speed and scored 25 percent higher than the incumbent operators with respect to the same.
Efficient data spectrum
The telecom arm delivers in the data spectrum zone too, providing both coverage as well as capacity spectrum. The network
framework which comprises pan-India 5MHz paired spectrum in 800 MHz band and 20 MHz unpaired spectrum in 2300 MHz band is
Jio’s driving force.
Free pre-loaded applications
The LTE services provided by Reliance Jio Infocomm forms the vital base for an array of other digital facilities the
telecom company has on offer. Besides the recently unveiled JioChat and JioMoney Wallet, the network facilities come with
pre-installed applications like Jio Play (Live TV), JioOnDemand (VoD) and JioBeats.
The market already has an umpteen number of services and applications to lure customers. However, whether customers would
opt for the same is doubtful owing to the cumbersome process of maintaining individual apps and subscription methods. This
could prove to be a win-win situation for Reliance Jio because apart from offering unified services and subscription
management, the process is also convenient and customer-friendly.
Summary
Reliance Jio Infocomm out does competitors in network speed test.
