Reliance Jio Network Has 7 Lakh Users before the Final Launch

Reliance Jio is making headlines with its high-speed 4G network across the world. Very recently, the company emerged as the world’s biggest start-up, as per records. This is impressive, considering the telecom arm has not yet launched its data services commercially.

Test phase

Reliance Jio earlier had a special test phase for its employees and later extended the services to exclusive members through the invite-only program. The initiative largely helped the telecom company to build its customer base with a total number of 7 lakh users on Jio’s bandwidth as of now. Not only is this proving to be beneficial to the company in terms of revenue, but the same is also weakening the hold of incumbent operators in the market.

Superior network

An analysis by Credit Suisse (Foreign broker) confirms that Jio’s network speeds are about 7-15 times faster than its counterparts. Additionally, the company also scored high in terms of network coverage. Ever since the trial launch, Jio has witnessed an increasing rate in subscriptions, garnering around 13PB/month of data usage. The company is not only emerging with its superior network quality, but is now also a leading LTE provider in the country.

7 lakh users

With the steady rise to success, Jio is looking to further grow and gain more customers on its bandwidth. From the current 7, 00,000 users, it is aiming to touch 2.5 million users with a targeted data usage of 50PB all within a month before the final launch.

A boost for Reliance Industries

With considerable development in the refining and petrochemicals business, the company’s emergence in the telecom industry is yet another milestone for Reliance Industries. Jio also surpassed expectations by recording 18.5GB of average data usage per customer in a month. While Reliance Jio Infocomm is providing 4G services at attractive prices, other providers offer 2G as well as 3G services that lag behind in terms of efficiency.

Demand for 4G LTE services

The demand for 4G services across the country is increasing by leaps and bounds with the increase in LTE penetration and the continuous supply of LTE-enabled smart phones. This will further help Jio gain a stronghold in the market with its economical data packages.

Despite a mere Internet penetration of 22% in the country, there was a recorded 40% increase in users in the FY15 compared to FY14.

The Reliance Jio Infocomm network will receive a further boost with the recently launched LYF phones that are gaining popularity among customers. It has even battled it out to emerge as the fifth-largest 4G mobile brand in the country within the first quarter of its launch.

Summary

Reliance Jio Infocomm currently has seven lakh users on its network bandwidth.
