Reliance Jio’s powerful entry into the telecom sector has been a welcome change, with customers getting the opportunity to enjoy affordable data services and free voice calls. The current need for 4G services has also exponentially increased the demand for Jio SIM cards. Reliance Jio also supports Mobile Number Portability (MNP), which will make it convenient for customers to use their current mobile number despite transferring to the Jio network. People from around 100 cities across India can avail of this feature by the end of 2016. Getting access to Jio SIM cards has also been made easy through the home-delivery facility wherein customer service executives from Jio will help individuals complete the e-KYC procedure from home and acquire a Jio SIM card.

With regard to Jio’s services, Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Mukesh Ambani stated that the company is working towards decreasing the network congestion by improving its infrastructure. The company also encountered call drops in the initial stage of its launch because Points of Interconnection (PoI) were denied by other operators. However, the company is now growing at a steady rate with a whopping customer base of more than 50 million. Mukesh Ambani believes in empowering India through digitization and he believes that Jio will enable this change through its services.
